SITAJAN MET 50/1000 TABLET is a fixed-dose oral antidiabetic combination medication that integrates the therapeutic benefits of:

• Sitagliptin Phosphate 50 mg – a DPP-4 inhibitor

• Metformin Hydrochloride 1000 mg – a biguanide class agent

This dual therapy is indicated for adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus who are unable to achieve adequate glycemic control with monotherapy. It is especially beneficial for those requiring a higher dose of Metformin to maintain blood sugar levels.

Sitagliptin increases incretin levels, which in turn stimulates insulin release and reduces glucagon secretion in a glucose-dependent manner. Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production, enhances insulin sensitivity, and improves peripheral glucose uptake.
